Office of Research Development and Sponsored Projects

About the Office of Research Development and Sponsored Projects, Faculty of Science and Technology

As well as compiling applications and disseminating information on public offerings of grants for research funding from sources both inside and outside the university, in representative cases of external research funding such as the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology(MEXT)Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research, we also guide researchers through the entire process, from the hosting of application workshops to the submission of performance reports. In joint research projects sponsored by or carried out in partnership with the government, foundations, or the private sector, we are in charge of various matters, including accepting researchers, financial management, dealing with accounting, and inspections. For duties that entail research contracts and intellectual property, we liaise with the office of the Keio Leading-edge Laboratory of Science and Technology(KLL). In addition, we are also in charge of managing an extremely popular endowed series of lectures by inviting external guest speakers from the business community and from overseas.

Our public relations activities include events such as the Faculty of Science and Technology Public Lecture Series and the KEIO TECHNO-MALL(Keio Science and Technology Exhibition)organized by KLL for government officials and corporate executives, as well as the editing and publication of New Kyūrizukai [Easy Understanding of Science], a promotional magazine celebrating the contributions of younger researchers.
